Coming down from Havana and Vinales to explore a bit of central Cuba, I only had a day to spend in Cienfuegos, but even during that day I was able to see and explore quite a lot, much in thanks to my very friendly and efficient Airbnb host. Once I arrived, a taxi driver took me to the ferry, and 5 mins later I was on the other side of the river/lake exploring an old fortress. On the way back, we stopped to chill at the beach, and once back in town I asked to be dropped at the southern side, with lots of old colonial buildings and fun hangout live music spots, and make my way back to center walking. At the center, I explored the small old town, ate some great local food, and listened to some local tunes. The next day, I ventured out to see El Nicho national park up in the mountains.
Summing up that wonderful hectic Cienfuegos visit…
