Every few years my father and I do a trip together to explore another part of the world. Because of the pandemic we haven’t had a chance to do that in a while, and in 2022 when things eased up a bit and Greece opened up we made the most of the opportunity and go for a trip. One of our previous trips around 2017 was to Greece, around the Athens area, so this time we headed up north with Thessaloniki serving as the base of explorations.
Thessaloniki is a very interesting city, and there is a lot to see and do in the region. It’s a bit different to the gorgeous beaches of the islands and the history and culture surrounding Athens, but it has a bit of all of that and more, completing with lovely mountain areas, big lakes, and a lot of relaxing nature.
We started in Thessaloniki, first went east towards the half islands with lovely beaches, and then explored to the west towards the mountains.
