In the last few months I’ve been exploring more of northern Hong Kong. One of the first hikes I did in the area was Lau Shui Heung Country Trail connecting to, but deviating from the famous Pat Sing Leng. You start from a reservoir, make your way up the mountains, to discover more reservoirs and mountain valleys with streams, and breathtaking views towards Plover Cover reservoir and the surrounding bay.
We’ll start from the Lau Shui Heung Reservoir…
Got as close as I could with a taxi…
Up the mountains with the Lau Shui Heung Country Trail…
Once you get up you can see all the way north to the Shenzhen skyscrapers…
Mid way I got the craziest monsoon, waited it out getting soaking wet for half an hour. Grateful for dry wear clothing 🙂
Reached Hok Tau Reservoir…
Up the stream with Hok Tau Reservoir Family Walk…
Finally making it to the very odd Sha Lo Tung Cheung Uk ghost town… a deserted village.
Which, oddly, seems to be a tourist attraction of sorts…
Gotta love village life in the middle of nowhere mountains…
And now it’s back down towards Tai Po area and the gorgeous Plover Cove area bay.
