Hong Kong trail section 7 connects with the Tai Tam reservoir trails and Dragon’s back. I’ve done the Dragon’s Back hike in south eastern Hong Kong many times, and I was looking for something new in the area. Hong Kong trail section 7 begins very close to the end of Dragon’s Back, and continues around the Tai Tam Harbour all the way back to Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir Dam and the road leading to Stanley. The views are not as grand as on top of the mountain, but you get to visit some nice beaches, and see some quiet local villages, with a very easy straight walk with no major ups and downs. Overall a pleasant easy 2-3 hours walk, and in all that time I didn’t come across a single person, which is quiet unusual for anything on HK island.
The way I did it was from my base in Stanley taking a taxi to the starting point at the end of Dragon’s Back, and walked my way back to Stanley.
Here’s from the trail, starting from the southern point going up north, and ending back in Stanley…
