In my last visit to Israel I went to visit a university that I knew very little about – the Open University of Israel in Raanana. Open University was meant for remote education to allow anyone to have access to education, but in recent years has really revamped and advanced to also do high quality research and teaching innovation. The campus is still rather small, nothing like the large universities in Israel, but it is home to some great scholars, and is trying to compete with the others on both research and teaching quality.
It didn’t take long to tour the entire campus, but I liked what I saw, some open spaces, lots of green, and a central location, with some very lively and passionate local faculty.
