I collect capitol buildings, or maybe – visits to capitol buildings across the US. I mean, I try. Whenever I visit a capital city in a new state I try to fit it to my schedule to go and take a look at the capitol building. Florida, Illinois, Washington DC, Austin, and Harrisburg, are some of the more recent ones. The American capitol buildings are surprisingly diverse and almost always with interesting local history. The Arizona capitol building in Phoenix is definitely not one of the fancy large ones, but it has its own charm, and there is a large memorial park in the legislative government mall leading up to the capitol building.

You can do a really quick visit of an hour or so to see both the memorial park and the capitol building. Not a must-do, but if you’re collecting visits to capitol buildings like me, then…
