After two years living in Taiwan, on and off, I have come to know Taiwan very well. It’s safe to say that I’ve covered most of the major tourist spots, even making it all the way to the off-the-beaten-track places like Jinmen islands close to the mainland China coast. So, when I made it back to Taiwan this year I was searching for something new, somewhere I haven’t been yet, and that was a bit hard to find. Until someone finally asked me whether I’ve been to Penghu yet, and I suddenly recalled that this very high on my TODO list but I never got around to it. So, I made a very quick decision to take a flight and explore the islands.
It was brilliant, and I had the most wonderful time. That trip reminded me of everything I loved about Taiwan. Crazy temples, gorgeous beaches, breathtaking scenic views, Taiwanese village life with Fijianese architecture houses, ancient Dutch and Japanese forts, amazing local food, and very friendly locals. Brought me back to the wonderful years of roaming around exploring Taiwan and Taiwanese culture.
I’ll go in things in more detail, but for now, here’s a quick taste of my motorcycle tour roaming around the island…
