Northern Israel is filled with wonders and gems, both for scenic nature and historical spots. In my last tour of northern Israel I set out to try and explore a few new attractions I have not been to before, and so I stumbled across Yehiam Fortress National Park featuring a fort dating back to the crusaders with turmoil history of Christian Muslim battles. It’s set up in a perfect spot overlooking the coastline to the west with spectacular views.
It’s a fun place to explore, and the local tourism office did a fair job with a movie to kick it off, and a path you follow to see all that the site has to offer. Can easily spend a couple of hours there, especially at the top of the building, overlooking the mountain scenery. When I was visiting, it was almost empty, which made it especially nice.
Let’s have a look.
The entrance…
Making my way up…
To this glorious spot…
There’s a kibbutz nearby, BTW…
Going back down…
With a few places to chill…
A few local hosts, very cute…
A bit from the more recent history…
And finally, through the main building, making my way out…
Lovely.
