Fukuoka has really nice area to its west, that includes a couple of large parks, a lake, historical sites with castle ruins, and a number impressive temples.
I started off my tour from the Ohori Park(Fukuoka Art Museum) train stop, made my way to Maizuru Park, visited the Fukuoka Castle Ruins to take in top views of the area, then ventures through the park down south to see the Fukuokaken Gokoku Shrine, and then made my way back north towards the train station through the lake in Ohori Park. There’s so much to see there, that you can really take it slow and wander around for hours. Japanese do know how to do parks, so you’ll obviously have the gorgeous delicate Japanese gardens, and the Shinto signs, complemented by great coffee shops and some arts and museums.
