If you’re in Los Angeles and visiting Hollywood and you’ve always wanted to take a photo near the grand Hollywood sign overlooking the city – you’re in for a challenge. Oddly enough, the internationally known sign is inaccessible. In a tourist-mecca that prides itself in getting visitor bucks for subpar Hollywood related attractions, I’m surprised no one has tried to make money off that sign as a tourist destination. Probably, the wealthy folks living next to the sign had something to do with it. The closest that you can get is to ride up Mount Lee on Mount Lee Drive and see how far you can go before the warning signs get to you. I did see people try and hike up there by foot, and I think that’s doable, but – I honestly wasn’t planning for a hike, just wanted a quick snip-snap and move on visit.
This is as close as I was able to get… from this point I’d say it’s a 10 minute hike up….
And then I backed out to the view area…
I wasn’t the only person there…
But to those disappointed by not reaching the Hollywood sign is a wonderful view of the Hollywood area and the Hollywood Reservoir from atop…
