Unexpectedly, I discovered an amazing place to get some stunning views of Hong Kong. In the heart of Wanchai, just next to the Pawn, is an upscale building called J-Residence (on Ship st.). For a farewell party to a dear friend leaving Hong Kong, we were invited to the J-Residence sky-lounge and once I got up to the 40th floor I was blown away with the facilities and the views this tower gets.
If you climb two floors up, through the beautiful rooftop swimming pool, you’ll get to the sky lounge. Definitely, without a doubt, the nicest rooftop I’ve seen in Hong Kong. I’m sure some people might laugh at that, as there are probably even nicer places, but to me it was perfection. Just goes to show you how disconnected I might be from the posh expat community in HK.
This is what you’re likely to see facing North…
Insane. Now, when you look at that view, what’s around you?
This…
Insane. Can you imagine swimming in this pool overlooking Hong Kong from above? Or lounging with views of the mountains surrounding the peak?
So this is how the upper middle-class folks live in Hong Kong. Good to know.
Want to see more? How about nighttime views? (pardon my mobile’s poor night performance)
And it’s almost always empty. The only other person I saw up-there enjoying the views was some old big-bone lady in a tiny bikini doing Yoga stretches. I could live there, if they’ll let me.
