This new year eve I was at the Kaohsiung Dream Mall, with some other ~500,000 enthusiastic Taiwanese all cramped up together. I believe my mom, who’s currently visiting Taiwan, was completely overwhelmed with the masses of people and the Taiwanese spirit displayed. I imagine that is one experience that would be difficult to forget 🙂
My often mentioned that she thought the MRTs in Kaohsiung were absolutely fabulous.
Here’s some of what was happening at Dream Mall :

How about some hot Taiwan Beer Taiwanese girls ?
Although a bit late, maybe Taiwanese style, I would like to wish you a very happy new year! ^_^
Thanks for sharing. I went to Ali mountain with some friends on December,31.
It was so crowded and too many people in the mountain. I guessed maybe most people didn’t sleep at that night, and went to some places outside to celebrate New year’s coming. Many people took photos when we saw the first light of dawn. We didn’t sleep the whole night until next day’s noon. I think next year I would choose to stay at home rather than go outside~
Yijung – even despite the crowds, that sounds like a very nice vacation. People are going to be everywhere, but I think that’s part of the Taiwanese spirit of “re4nao4”, right? that’s what makes night-markets so attractive, isn’t it? 😛 With that said, staying at home with a few good friends or going to a private party is often a great alternative as well.
