Around Budapest there are several hill that offer panoramic scenic views of Budapest and the Danube river from above. One of the nicer places to catch a great view is at the Fisherman’s Bastion with lookout towers, a castle and Matthias Church. Aside from the spectacular views of the area there are all sorts of tourist traps and little museums offering different attractions, but I only had time for one and so went to see the odd Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker turned hospital at the bottom of the hill (no photos allowed inside, I’m afraid).
You can start from Matthias Church…
And then make your way to the Bastion for some views…
And finally enjoy the square around the castle and church…
The way up to the hill over the river was, BTW, very beautiful as well…
Location:
Wonderful place to kick off the visit to Budapest.
