For the past few weeks the HKUST student associations have been going strong at the HKUST "Hong Kong Jockey Club Atrium" main entrance hall.
A little similar to what I saw in Taiwan, only much louder, you’ll see student clubs around about all sorts of topics. Inspired by Kane@UST, here’s how it looks from above.
But to get in touch with student association spirit, take a look at this short video I took:
The university security force finally had to calm the young students down. In their club presentation they essentially invite students to play a game or sign up, dressing up in business suits or costumes…
shouting goodbye at you when you leave campus or giving you a loud welcome as you reach the end of the escalators.
Just imagine the fun if those students decide to become politically active ^_^
I guess the student club that’s closest to my area is the Management of Organizations Student Association of HKUST (visit their website and constitution). Although all undergraduates, they do all sorts of interesting promotional events with faculty and businessmen in HK. They’ve recently nominated a new "Cabinet" called Blazo with a whole new vision and social agenda. You’ll notice some familiar names in the list of sponsors, as most student clubs seem very well financed.
