In my last month living in Europe I visited Tilburg University and took the opportunity to explore the area a bit. Not too far away from Tilburg is Breda, which I’ve been planning to stop by and see for a while. It’s a small lovely town, with the typical Dutch canals, public parks, and some historic attractions. I spent a couple of hours touring the area, but once I made it back to the train it was announced that the trains heading back south are suspended. Looking at the train table, the only suggestion was to bypass Eindhoven by going through Nijmegen, another city I have not had the chance to visit yet. And so, ofcourse I took this opportunity and made a stop at Nijmegen, only to discover that they were doing a medieval festival all across the old town, and so I lingered for much longer than I expected. Overall, instead of just some lectures in Tilburg, this turned out to be quite a day of explorations. I love days like that.
Shall we take a look?
