The Turkish folks are generally warm and happy people and this is well reflected in their music and dancing. It happens every once in a while that you catch locals dancing and enjoying themselves to the sounds of local musicians playing for tips.

If you sit down in restaurants, most chances the musicians would approach you and play for you, and this is what it might look like when they do :

Wondering around the streets of Istanbul and hearing the Muezzins sing for the locals to come to prayer, mosques competing  against each other whose is the loudest, is an overwhelming sensation – even for those who, like me, know it from back home.
