One of the best weekends I’ve had in 2020, was also my last real travel weekend, before COVID hit hard. I was in Brazil, being naive to think that things wouldn’t affect that region, and I went on a long weekend out to São Bento do Sapucaí, 2-3 hours from Sao Paulo. It was a glorious weekend, with beautiful nature, lovely local towns, lots of things to see and explore, a good combo of chill, explore, and enjoy local culture.
The highlight was the Stone Ana Chata nature area, there are several hikes around there, but I did the simplest one of those, just to take in the breathtaking views of the region from above. I also explored the nearby Campos do Jordão and dined in some of the local farms in the region.
