Pokhara, the gateway to the Himalayas, was one of the highlights of the trip to Nepal. I was fortunate to have a gorgeous mountain top B&B overlooking the lake on one side and the scenic views of the Himalayas on the other side.
The touristy part of the city is quite small, but there are lots of adventures you can take. The easiest is to take a long stroll along the lake, catch a boat to take you to the template on an island on the lake, and then just explore the main Pokhara tourist street. It’s all very colorful, chill, and beautiful, lots of folks resting between long hikes up the mountain, or just taking it slow as they linger in this area.
We’ll start with a walk along the lake…
Take a boat to the island…
Visit the temple…
A bit further away from the tourist town, up the hill, are more local attractions. This is one temple I caught…
and just to give you a sense of the tourist street vibe…
