Obidos is a beautiful old town in central Portugal that I visited during my road trip going from Porto in the north down towards Lisbon in the south. I did an overnight stay in Obidos, beginning of January, so people were still celebrating their holidays, so upon arrival late night it was fairly quiet. The following day I spent a good few hours exploring the city walls and walking between the narrow alleys, and that when things livened up a bit, and was able to catch some local festivities.
Great medieval old atmosphere, wonderfully preserved, with nice views of the areas, and various local attractions with plenty of artsy galleries and food/drink options. Can easily spend a day exploring the city and surrounding area.
