After coming back from the central America trip and on my way to moving back to Asia I had a layover in the Netherlands for a day, just enough time for me to say my farewell to this wonderful country and see a bit more of an area I have yet to explore north of Amsterdam. I started off in Amsterdam, headed north to Marken, followed by Volendam, and the strange Fort near Edam in Oorgat, and then started the loop back through the bridge crossing going from Hoorn all the way to Lelystad. Although it was pretty cold and gloomy, the area was lovely, and i could sense that in spring/summer time these would be absolutely gorgeous. At the end of the full day trip, I felt very fortunate and somewhat sad about having to say farewell, yet I have no doubt I’ll be back in this region sooner or later. This trip concluded two amazing years of living in Europe, going above and beyond any expectations I had, and for that I will forever be grateful.
Let’s hit the road…
