Following a conference in Amsterdam, I proceeded to a uni-tour of western Germany, beginning from Cologne, through Frankfurt, to Munich. In Frankfurt, I visited the lovely campus of Goethe University, with some presence of the Max Plank Institute (European History of Law, mostly). It’s a charming campus, close to the lush Grüneburg Park, but perhaps the most surprising find of all was a Korean Garden just next to the main campus yard, a quick visit to Korea in the middle of Frankfurt.
We’ll begin with the Goethe University campus…
And stroll into the Korean Garden…
Location:
If you’re visiting the campus, be sure to go see the lovely little Korean Gardens. Nearby are also some botanical and palm gardens, if you feel like exploring a bit. Since it was Friday night and I was curious, I also ventured onto the nearby neighborhood and visited the local Jewish community to see a lovely old synagogue.
