A Chinese garden is not exactly one of the highlights I expected to find in Frankfurt, but the Chinese garden at Bethmann Park is rather large and surprisingly charming. Over 4000sqm in space it was aimed to mirror the Shiukou Gardens in Huizhou. There are various Chinese ponds, pagodas, and little gardens, offering a very chilled environment for visitors.
This, BTW, isn’t the only Asian garden I came across, as it turns out there was a Korean garden in the park next to the university campus. That’s the thing about Frankfurt, it’s very diverse in cultures and nationalities, compared to other parts of Germany I visited (limited to western west Germany, so far), and you can expect to find a very diverse array of restaurants and expats from all over the world, of all social classes.
Shall we go in and have a look?
Location:
Impressed? it looks better in real life and during sunny days. It’s quite central, so you won’t need to go far, and it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.
