For grand panoramic views of gorgeous Florence from above, there’s one hidden gem that should be on your TODO list – The Giardino Bardini. It’s still fairly lesser-known in the many attractions that Florence has to offer, and the elevator going up from street level to the gardens is a bit hard to spot, but once you locate that and go up the elevator you’re in for a treat. It’s a fine example of an Italian Renaissance garden, with many sculptures, statues, and most importantly – views. The garden dates back to the 13th century with more recent renovations in the the 18th centruy, but somehow over time the gardens were neglected and were in terrible shape up until the recent renovations and reopening. Nearby are the Boboli Gardens and open air museum, so that’s a must do after you’re done admiring the Florence views. There are also cafes and galleries at the gardens, with some fairly recent art added and displayed in the gardens.
Let’s take a walk through the gardens…
Location:
Lovely. Definitely take the time to look this up if you’re in Florence and want something a bit off the tourist beaten track and wonderful views of the city.
