Mexico is a great place to visit. Happy friendly local, delicious food, vibrant culture, funky music, world-class beaches, it’s just full of magical surprises. But one of the great highlights of Mexico is about the trip back in time to visit lost civilizations and explore ancient cultures that are long gone and no one really knows why or where to. What these great empires left behind is nothing short of spectacular. The Teotihuacan Pyramids near Mexico City are mind blowing, as are the Chichen Itza Maya Pyramids near Cancun. Interestingly, most of those pyramid ruins are inland, perhaps overlooking some main ancient trading route. The Tulum Mayan Pyramids Ruins, an hour south of Cancun, aren’t as grand as Chichen Itza or Teotihuacan, but they’re special because they’re on the seaside. Sea and history, that’s the a winning tourist combo. See a bit of ruins, maybe take a swim, sip in the ocean air, and stare at the waves crushing onto the overlooking pyramid mountain. If you think you’ve seen too many of those pyramids, reconsider, Tulum is very nice.
