Want to see Tallahassee from above? Not many tall building in Tallahassee, so your options are limited to, well, one. Make your way to the new Tallahassee Capitol Building and go up to the 22nd floor observation deck. You’ll be able to see a small gallery of the local Tallahassee history and catch panoramic views of Tallahassee.
Thing is about Tallahassee, it’s so green you can’t really see much beyond the near capitol area. Anywhere you look you just see a lot of trees. I remember my first time flying to the domestic Tallahassee airport and wondering where the city was. Flying over the town, you can’t really see the houses, as the trees entirely cover and hide all the houses.
Have a look…
Since you’re already in the building might as well go have a look at the legislators …
You’ll notice this was taken just before Christmas, which would explain the somewhat gloomy weather out the windows. But I visited the building a few times since. The views are usually sunnier, and you might even catch the legislators in session.
The old capitol building, now serving as the Florida Historic Capitol Museum, is just outside the building to the east.
Another little something for you to pass time in Tallahassee and get a sense of the layout of the town.
