One of the last things you might expect to find in the very flat Netherlands is a chairlift or cable car. In most of the Netherlands, there are no hills, but on the southern province of Limburg, you’ll start to see a hill here or there, and in Valkenburg, not too far away from Maastricht, you’ll even find a hill high enough that the locals thought it worthy of a chairlift. It’s called GoGo Valkenburg and it could possibly compete for the title of the shortest chairlift in the world, but, it is quite a hill, the Everest of the Netherlands, so those in need or for those like me who are just lazy, this would be a good way to get up there to get some of the gorgeous views of the Dutch country side. As with every such tourist attraction, you can expect lots of things for kids, like laser games, mini golf, hill slides, tubing, and some small rides. On the top is an old observatory tower, with various trails to hike on the hill top.

Location:
All in all, a fun thing to do for an hour or two not too far away from the Valkenburg castle and town center. If you live in the Netherlands you’d probably be excited about having a hill, and not just any hill – a hill with a view and some funky kiddy rides.
