Recently, I had my first chance to visit Wales, while I was making a short stop at Bristol in the UK, and so decided to do a quick detour and go see a part of the UK I haven’t been to before. Though things still look, well, British, you quickly notice the differences, mainly the Welsh language spoken and written on signs. Cardiff has a small old town center with a very large castle almost right at the center. So, in my one day visit to the Cardiff I mainly saw that area, and then later walked to the port bay area to see the more modern side of Cardiff with the newly renovated area near the large millennium center. Although it was a very gloomy and cold weekend, Cardiff showed a bit of its charm, and it was a pleasant excursion with something different enough for me to calm my constant need to see and explore new things.
