Capri Island on the coast of Amalfi not too far from Naples and Pompeii in Italy offers some of the best views I saw in the last year. Sure, it’s touristic, but once you’re up on the hills overlooking the gorgeous bay with the far away islands, you hardly notice the other tourists, and it isn’t all that crowded. If you’re on the Capri side of the island, then some the most breathtaking views of the southern side of the island are offered at the lovely Gardens of Augustus. A 2 euros entrance fee will get you to see some island botanical gardens, but more importantly – you’ll get to see the Capri area in all its glory – Mount Solaro, the bay of Marina Piccola, and the Faraglioni.
Location:
Capri is a must, and these gardens are a good kick-off to the island explorations.
