To continue the grand tour of Cologne, following up on the the grand Cologne Cathedral, with some churches and monasteries, Cologne is simply a very nice city for strolling around, especially in the history center of the city. There’s a large Rhein river crossing the town, with a large bridge offering the love locks experience, that offers some panoramic views of the town and its cathedral skyline. Several great museums, like the perfume museum and the chocolate museum, parks, statues, squares, and lots of little bars and restaurants scattered around.
When in Cologne, I spent a whole day roaming around and enjoying the city, and I felt like there’s probably much more to see and do, around every corner are new attractions and interesting sights.
Location
From the train station, head south towards the cathedral and just get lost between the narrow streets, the cathedrals, the museums, and the lively squares. A lovely historic area.
