Vienna is a gorgeous city, with much to see and do, but perhaps one of the top attractions is the Schonbrunn Palace and gardens. Since my time in Vienna was somewhat limited, and I’ve seen my fair share of European castles and palaces, I decided not to take the tour inside, but rather just explore the outside gardens. I was visiting during the end of winter and so the trees and gardens were not in full bloom, and I can only imagine that this park would be magnificent during spring and autumn. Still, this huge park offers some great walk, lovely green spots, grand foundations, and majestic views of Vienna and the palace from the hills. There are also various attractions in the grounds, like kids’ playgrounds, a zoo, botanical gardens, etc.
All in all, a wonderful day to spend half a day, and if you’re interested in palaces, then the tours of the palace are considered world-class.
