In my last revisit to Philly, I got to see a few new attractions I have not explored the first time around. There were all sorts of hidden gems and quirky experiences, but the weirdest of them all – by far – was Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, a non-profit folk art museum with works by mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. It’s a small space, so you need to reserve your time slot in advance, and the whole place can be covered in a few minutes, but it’s well worth your visit. Throughout the city you’ll notice mosaics, similar theme, sometimes by the same artist, but this is the one place you’ll really see it all come together to great a wonderland of bizarre art. Tourists, especially Asians and kids, it seems, love this place. It makes for some great photo ops, and wherever you point your camera, you’re bound to capture something interesting.
Shall we have a look?
