A quick daytrip from Rome by train is the little town of Tivoli, home to several gorgeous villas and UNESCO heritage sites. My little sister and I spent a day touring these Italian historical mansions filled with art and history and accompanied by spectacular gardens. The mountains join the rivers to make for an especially picturesque scenery, all quite walkable. Typical for an small Italian town you’ll find few piazzas, narrow winding roads and hanging bridges, accompanied by an array of restaurants and coffee shops.
