Been to France many times, but always in the area of Paris or to the north, and it was long overdue for me to visit the southern part of France. In 2023, when visiting Paris, I decided to take a trip down to Lyon during the weekend, and very glad I did. Paris was bustling with tourists, very hectic, and expensive. Lyon was quiet, chill, laid back, spacious, beautiful, and very charming.
I had long walks along the river and up to the cathedral on the hill, wandering around the old town and the parks, taking in the sights, enjoying seeing the happy locals. Felt like it was a good place to linger, should I ever make my way back and have the time. Wish I had longer.
