Nepal has been on my travel TODO list since I first arrived in Asia, and somehow in the ~15 I’ve been in the area I failed to find the opportunity to visit. Until finally I decided to do an unexpected Christmas trip away to go have a look. Time was limited, so couldn’t see as much as I wanted to, but in the very short time I visited I was able to do quite a lot and get a taste of the beauty of Nepal.
First stop, Kathmandu, a hectic capital, the introduction to the wonderful mess that Nepal offers. First couple of days I stayed in Thamel, a lively tourist area with lots of backpackers, bars, restaurants, and shops. The last day was spent in the surprisingly posh Baber Mahal area, a real treat.
