I have visited Jaffa many times, very briefly, but never really took the time to linger. In my last visit to Israel I stayed in the area for a few nights and so could explore more of its magic. It’s definitely my kind of place. The area around the old flee market has been completely transformed into a lively restaurant/pub/bar/cafe hub, with many places to listen to music, grab alcohol, and just chill. Then, there’s the magic of old Jaffa, filled with galleries and winding alley, leading all the way down to the very old Jaffa harbor, another area with many restaurants and cafes. Lots of culture in that area, with atleast two fringe theaters and one large alternative theater. And, it’s the beginning of the very long stretch of the Tel Aviv boardwalk.
