After a few freezing cold days New York City of Christmas and Newyears, my family and I took a flight down to Florida to warm up a bit. Heading down to explore the western coast first we weren’t sure where to stay, but with elementary travel hacking skills we had a car waiting for us at the airport and we first headed down west towards Tampa and Saint Petersburg. Being world famous for its wonderful beaches we wanted to be close to a beach, and so after a quick hotel search we made our way towards Treasure Island.
Treasure Island didn’t disappoint. The Treasure Island Beach was terrific, not as overdeveloped as I’ve seen in other strips of the Florida beaches, offering wide white sand and clear blue waters…
A bit off the beach, on the back, there are lots of narrow canals where people park their sails…
Both sunset and sunrise proved a special delight with plenty of bird and people watching opportunities…
Nightlife wasn’t very loud, and my sis and I enjoyed a few cocktails and specialty beers at the local pub playing live music and sports. Overall, a very pleasant start to a wonderful Florida tour with the familia.
