Mexico City is an exciting city full of surprises. Truly a world city, I’ve ran into lots of exotic fascinating places while visiting Mexico City, and every time I visit I see a different side of this city that makes me appreciate it even more.
In my last visit to Mexico City I was looking for something a bit more local and possibly away from the foreigner tourist beaten track, and found a small museum that likely appeals more to the local population for its nostalgic value, highlighting old Mexican toys representing Mexican culture. Perfect, just the kind of thing I love.
And it was lovely, truly. It was somewhere between a creepy horror show to a hilarious glimpse into Mexican culture soul, a truly fascinating journey through old Mexico’s pre-internet entertainment featuring many of the local cultural symbols. Can’t say I understood it all, not even most of it, but I spend a good two hours exploring this complex. There are a few floors, all jam packed with the strangest toys. On the top is also a rooftop overlooking the area from above.
Shall we have a peek?
