Hong Kong’s scenery is really something different. Although it one of the “citiest” cities I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to quite a few, it pales in comparison to the gorgeous natural surroundings of the Hong Kong islands. The contrast between the man-made monster buildings and the islands’ natural landscape makes for a scary yet magnificent combination. Ngong Ping 360 at Lantau Island next to the Hong Kong international airport is one of the best spots to admire what Hong Kong has to offer. With a gondola going up the mountains for a few miles to the gigantic bronze sitting Buddha, this is one breathtaking ride.
Let’s start the ride.
Up in the Ngong Ping village there are a few children attractions I’d personally recommend that you skip, and just a walk and about 300 stairs away is the big seated bronze Buddha, overlooking the surrounding mountains.
