Three Village Pavilion and Ping Yeung Mural Village were two attractions that I found while looking for a while when staying in northern Hong Kong. I was looking for something that would introduce me to some of the local cultures of north-eastern Hong Kong villages, and found a trail that took me through some really interesting spots.
I started with the Shui Ngau Tso big trees, crossed over the Heung Yuen Wai highway to mainland China, and went up the Three Village Pavilion for an observation deck to get some grand views of the Hong Kong countryside, all the way to Shenzhen. Then, the nearby Ping Yeung village, where I saw some heritage buildings and talked to some eco groups who are trying to involve locals in renovating the area, and then ended up in the small but wonderful Ping Yeung Mural Village.

Met some eco groups trying to get locals to sign on a plan to renovate the nearby riverside. Looked like a really interesting plan…
