On my last day in Poznan Poland I did a whole day of walking around, and decided to go visit the city park – Park Cytadela. As the name suggests, it’s a park built on the ruins of a fort, in this case Fort Winiary. I started from the Heroes Monument, walked around, visited the army museum with a large collection of former soviet war machines, and then roamed around the gardens. Polish folks were chilling everywhere, and there were quite a few stands to get some beer and snacks. Overall, a good way to get away from the city for a bit, and learn a bit about regional history.
