With some impressive PR work, Ocean Park launched its annual Halloween Bash. Night tickets from 5:30pm till midnight are sold at 280HK$ an adult (224HK$ for a student) and special privilege tickets go for 495HK$. Most of the people I know already went or bought the ticket and are planning to go soon.
You might be wondering – why would you want to pay almost double for a privilege ticket? going there on Oct. 17th with a few friends from HKU/UST I found out. To get into the short 5 minutes Halloween rides you need to wait for almost an hour. You might pay double for the pricier ticket, but that will get you into the faster lane where you’ll only wait for 30 minutes or so. Yeah, you got it, it’s unbelievably crowded. Last time I went to Ocean Park with my little sister on a weekend we thought waiting in line for 10-15 minutes was bad, but this time it was way too long. The PR guy probably got a big bonus, but I imagine most of the visitors went away disappointed. Atleast I had my friends to wait with…
Still, the atmosphere was festive…
Rides and long lines aside, there was still some to see in between…
Some people came in all dressed up. Check out the happy Japanese bunch… (note to self : make a plan to live in Japan for a while)
There was, naturally, the obligatory Halloween merchandize and accessorizing…

Since we’re at it, here’s beautiful urban Hong Kong on the way to Ocean Park on a nice day with clear skies. Always a pleasure to ride through sitting in the front row seats of a double-decker.
