Was looking for new adventures up in northern Hong Kong so decided to venture all the way up north, to the countryside area of Nam Chung. Really reminded me of my years in Taiwan, and some of the visits to Guangdong’s countryside, it’s a whole other side of Hong Kong. Small villages, lots of nature and green, long coasts, rivers and streams. It’s all quite lovely.
Started from Yim Tso Ha Tsuen village…
With little temples (Hip Tin Kung)…
And little ponds (Hoi Pui Leng)…
Then walked along the coast…
Till the Tin Hau Temple…
Few walk/hike options from there… I continued down south towards Nam Chung Pavilion…
To reach the Ping Nam Stream …
Then made a circle back through the countryside Shek Pan Tam…
Isn’t the countryside gorgeous?
Then back up north to the starting point, though trails and villages…
Last glimpse of northern Hong Kong bordering China, noticed the insane bus lines, and somehow managed to catch a taxi back.
