One of the largest museums in the United States and among the most popular in the world is the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. On my way to a visit in the nearby Northeastern University campus, I decided to make a short visit and tour around some of the more contemporary collections the fine arts museum has to offer.
Here’s Wikipedia with the well deserved flattery :
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts, is one of the largest museums in the United States, attracting over one million visitors a year. It contains over 450,000 works of art, making it one of the most comprehensive collections in the Americas. It is also the 31st most visited art museum in the world, and the fifth most-visited in the United States, as of 2012. The museum was founded in 1870 and its current location dates to 1909.
It’s housed in a gorgeous colonial building with a remarkably creative use of space that inspires awe and admiration…
There’s really a lot to see, but I’ll share a bit of the highlights I came across that I thought would be interesting to shoot with the camera…
Ori Gersht, an Israeli fine art photographer, was featured in a dedicated exhibition near the contemporary art section, with some mind provoking photography (see more details here).
Aside from the contemporary art, you can expect to find some Asian and European exhibitions…
Overall, a wonderful 2 hours, and I could definitely see myself coming back for more if I were living in the area.
