My last day in lovely Sicily included a visit to the gorgeous Mondello, very close to Palermo. Clear waters, fluffy white sand, and mountains rising in the background, as far as crowded Mediterranean sea beaches go, this is one great beach. Was a bit crowded when we were there, but still was pleasant overall, if you stay away from the busy over-commercial restaurants, and venture a bit further towards the northern or southern mountains. Almost every pic you take in whatever direction, will look like a good Sicily postcard. There are a few small attractions in the area, like the Riserva Naturale Orientata Capo Gallo Sferracavallo, caves at Riserva Naturale Grotta Conza or Chinese gardens at Palazzina Cinese.
