One of my favorite spots in Israel is the southern desert, and I don’t often get to visit. During the pandemic I took a car down to Sde Boker and Mitzpe Ramon to warm up a bit and remind myself of the beauty of the area.
I started with a visit to Sde Boker until sunset and it became dark, and then spent the overnight in Mitzpe Ramon, to walk up to a glorious day with spectacular breath-taking views in all directions. Met some mountain goats, and visited the sculpture gardens.
It was only a short visit, in between work duties in Beer Sheva, but it has managed to refuel my energies and remind myself I should come back and spend longer exploring.
