Possibly the most beautiful place I visited in Puerto Rico, perhaps ever, the Faro Los Morrillos in Cabo Rojo is absolutely breath-taking. There are no words to describe just how scenic this place is, it’s truly heavenly. Caribbean waters all around, green hills on tall limestone cliffs, an amazing clear water with white powder sand beach cove, it doesn’t get much better than that.
It’s not a short ride, and a bit off the beaten Puerto Rico tourist path but I’d say that if weather is nice then this is a definite must. Sunsets are especially beautiful.
In case you’re wondering, the lighthouse was constructed by the Spanish in 1882 to guide the ships making their way into the Caribbean Sea through Puerto Rico’s south-western passage.
More?
The little beach cove…
A bit more of the sunset…
The lcoals that were there…
And sneaking inside the lighthouse…
Don’t miss it.
