During my second day visiting Poznan in Poland I wanted to make the most of a beautiful day and try and see something a bit further away from the central old town, possibly experience more of the local life with fewer tourists. Over on the east side of Poznan I found a large artificial lake area with a few local attractions that made for a very nice half day walk chilling out and watching locals do their thing. Lots of recreational attractions around this lovely lake. There are ski slopes, ice rings, a zoo, gardens, family train rides, swimming pools, rowing, biking, even shopping malls, and the list goes on and on. A good place to bring the family, especially kids, and let them loose while you’re chilling out on a beer. In some parts of the lake it gets pretty busy with kids, particularly around fast food joints, but if you stay clear of those, it’s all pretty laid back, and it was nice to see how chilled the local parents were while kids of all ages were exploring around.
Shall we go for a walk around the lake?
Location:
A nice way to spend a few hours to relax and get away from the old town, or to take the family/kids.
