Suzhou has a lot of wonderful Chinese gardens. In my last visit to Suzhou in wonderful weather I visited quite a few of those. The first two were the Humble Administrator and Lion Grove Gardens, dating back to the 12th and the 13th century, and are now UNESCO heritage sites. Aside from just being very lovely and beautiful, they are a bit of an amusement park, with lots of places for hide and seek, tunnels and hills, small lakes, rivers and Pagodas, with lots of fun photo ops. Kids go crazy for these things, Instagramers do their pose thing, and so you also get some pretty great people watching. It sometimes get too crowded with the tourist groups, so early or late before or after those come is best.
