In my recent trip to Nanjing I had a bit of time to wonder around and explore a bit more of the city, saw some new places, and revisited old favorites.
Xuanwu Lake wasn’t too far away from the university I was visiting, so walked over to that park, and just before the lake found Jiming Temple, and old template dating back to the 6th century and connecting to the Nanjing old city walls bordering with the lake. So, you start off from the template, and then can wander back and forth on the city walls, to then enter the lake and park.
During night time, I revisited the Confucious Temple area next the Qinhuai River. It was very lively, with lots of excited locals. You can take a boat ride up and down the river, visit the local temple, or just wander around the old street and grab one of the endless street food or restaurant options.
