Istanbul is a beautiful exciting city. I honestly didn’t really know what to expect, but I was very curious to see the city, country and culture my sister has been passionately researching, studying and living with for a few years now. No one knows for sure how it happened, but somehow while I was eying east towards Chinese cultures, my sister developed a strong interest in all things Turkish. When she invited me to come over to stay with her for a few days in Istanbul-Turkey before she heads back to Israel, I was ecstatic.
In the next few days I’ll try and share some of the experiences we’ve had during that visit, but before I do, here’s a quick tribute to the beautiful Turkish-hearted lady who has shared her life and passion with me in an experience I shall not soon forget.
She speaks Turkish with the locals, understands the subtleties of Turkish politics, current affairs and history, knows her way around local food, music and culture and constantly shows care and empathy towards the locals and their living style. I’m jealous and proud.
Happy times …
Sounds a lot like her brother actually. She’s a gorgeous woman.
Thanks Catherine, I’ll let her know you said that 🙂
she is so beautiful, just by watching her smile, one can sense the innocence and openness in her childlike heart. And I am touched by her proud and loving brother too.
